Confidence Is The Key~ Sadie Hawkins

Sadie Hawkins is dawning for most schools, and that means the chase is on. And wouldn't it be great if everyone knew how to be creative, but then again that would mean work (taking time away from figuring out how to put on more makeup and trying so hard not to look like sluts!(sorry girls but a lot of you need to hold back on the makeup department) ). So if you need ideas here is the place to look! I will eventually be adding some more advice from fellow friends and students, so if you are reading this from the link on my Facebook you can comment and contribute. You will get credit and you can hopefully point this out to your friends, the more friends you tell, the more people who will get to see your wonderful ideas. BUT make sure you don't repeat ideas, for every idea will only come up once, and by the first person who had these ideas! If you would rather your name be anonymous you can privately message me. (last names will not be added for safety precautions) Happy Sadie Hawkins everybody!

"I think it would be really cool if you asked in a way that made him do something and be involved. For example, you could make a treasure hunt and draw a map, and leave clues along the way, until he finds the message at the end (or you could be standing at the end holding a message, either way). Or you could make a puzzle, that he has to put together, with the question on it. There are cool puzzle making kits, you could even put a picture on it or something."

Confidence Is The Key~ Asking someone to homecoming! (2)

Now I know that there really isn't much time left for a few of us, because some homecomings have already happened and all, but there are still some people who have not chosen how they are going to ask someone to the dance!!! You people really need to hurry up, you are running out of time!!!! Here are some new ways I thought of to ask someone to homecoming:

Pen Drop: (I thought of this the other day in civics class) So what you do is take a thin piece of paper (not lined) and you begin to write your note. Then precede to grab a pen with one of those tab hanger things on them and role it around the pen and under the hanger. Once you are finished, make sure the paper will not fall off (if it does, get tape)! Then all you have to do is write their name visibly on the paper, and DROP!!!

Happy Birthday!!!!! For this you will need a birthday card and some creativity. (this one is the one I find cutest)First you have to make tickets, include:
- 1 pick up ticket
- 1 homecoming date ticket
- 1 all night dance ticket
- 1 kiss ticket (if you have been together for awhile)
make them as artsy as you can without distracting from the main purpose. Also include in the card that these are non-refundable, all in one night use (use 1, got to use them all). Next tape a small paper envelope on the inside of the card, and label "Homecoming?" on the part of the inside envelope where the flap covers it, stick the tickets inside, tape shut. Next write something in the card (make it something original, girls like that), make sure you mention something like I'm giving you your present early/late this year or I know it isn't your birthday, but here's a present anyway! O and make sure to tell them that they have to say yes once they see what is inside.

Message In A Bottle: Now this is if you know where the girl lives! Unless of course you put it in her locker (make sure she checks it regularly). Find a glass bottle, tear the tag off, and clean it. Then get someone with really good penmanship (my guess is you don't have good writing skills) and have them write a cute letter.
Now when I say letter in a bottle my mind has so many ideas, you could make the letter sound like it was from 100 years ago or you could go modern day. What ever floats your boat! Make a tag with the persons name on it and wrap it around the mouth of the bottle with a ribbon. Then deliver!

Half Time: If you can pull some strings and your homecoming game is a couple days before the dance, this is a really cute idea! Get a couple of the guys to hold up signs that spell out Homecoming and then her initials or her name, but make sure she can see it!

Chiming The Glass: When she goes out, go to her house, go to the back. Call her and say it is urgent, also to be there quickly. Be standing on something tall so that she can see you from any point! Be in a suit, have a glass, and have a piece of silverware. When she comes into view, start tapping the glass. Do the usual intro you would do at a formal diner, and then announce that you want her to go to go to the dance with you.

That's all I got for now, see you at homecoming!!

Confidence Is The Key~ Asking Someone To Homecoming!

I know that at least a few of you are looking forward to HOMECOMING this year! Which means I am posting this in ADVANCE!!!! I have 2 other posts to finish and hopefully I can get some posts going on in "Life In The Day Of Me" because I haven't posted anything since august 3!!!!!!! But back to the story here:

If you were me, you probably wouldn't be even close to thinking about this, because well.......... I think that everybody who shows any signs of liking me is just trying to make my life miserable or trying to get my hopes up and then stomp me into the ground (hint-hint I'm hard to get). But this year I am doing it for you guys! 10 creative ways to ask someone to prom brought to you by Holly Ashworth on Of course it's homecoming but I still think it would be awesome if somebody put SOME thought into how they do things!!!

#1 You Tube video- I think this is ultra cute! I mean what kinda girl's heart does not melt at the sight of a guy asking her out like that one guy did for proposing to his girlfriend? What a beautiful thing to witness!
WARNINGS- To protect her privacy make it a "private video" or use her nickname/initials!

#2 Stuffed animal- Send her a cute and fuzzy stuffed animal! All you need to do is rap a tag around it that say's "Will you go to homecoming with me?". And that is pretty much all it is!

#3 Parking tickets- all I had to say is awwwwww! What a cute idea! Just stick a paper saying _____ under her windshield wiper.

  • "You are being fined for being way to fine! Will you go to homecoming with me?"
  • "You are being fined for being out of this world! Will you go to homecoming with me?"
  • Etc.
and if you have a relative that is a police officer than this is the plan for you!
WARNINGS- Don't be to cheesy!

#4 Fortune Cookies- In the post she mentions a place called "greenfire" that makes custom fortune cookies. I would say this is better for a proposal but it's really up to you!

#5 Languages- if your sweet-hart has a passion for Spanish, get a dictionary and ask them out in Spanish!
Same goes with any language really!
WARNINGS- Make sure you know what you are saying! Some bad words can closely resemble the ones that are truly Innocent!

#6 Cookies- If you love baking or if you have a wonderful mom this one comes down to your sweetheart's sweet-tooth. just make  a batch of cookies, place a note, place wax/tissue paper down, and pile the cookies nice and thick.
WARNINGS- allergies!

#7 Flowers- this is an easy way to get yourself some brownie points! just call in a flower order company and send it with a note. Or you can get some flowers from the store, put in a handmade note, ring the doorbell and RUN!
WARNINGS- allergies!

#8 CD- "Burn some of your favorite romantic songs on a CD. Instead of listing the song names and artists, use the liner notes to pop the big question."  Or you can put their favorite songs on a CD and then put on a voice recording at the end.
WARNINGS- make sure to tell them to listen to the end!

#9 Formal Invite- "Write an invitation in your best calligraphy on a piece of parchment paper, then roll it up and tie it with a velvet ribbon. Slip it into his backpack or locker, or to get even more authentic, enlist one of your friends to act as a messenger."

#10 Get Some Balls!
Ask him or her in person! If you aren't as creative as many other people. Good God, don't hide behind the internet dude!

I hope everybody has a wonderful time at homecoming, see you there!

Confidence Is The Key~ RATS 101 (finishing soon)

Many of you are probably wondering........ rats....... O boy this is going to be a long one. well if you thought that........ you are right! I am trying to convince my brother to change his idea of getting a winter white hamster........... and get 2 RATS. And yes, I have done my job :) We are hopefully getting 2 rats from the Woodbury AHS. The rats names are Olive and Elsie, they are quite cute in my perspective. -> Olive   <- Elsie

  • The average healthy rat lives about 2-3 years, being able to breed at the small age of about 6 weeks*
  • A rat is an omnivore, meaning it can eat about anything we can.
  • Rats are about as intelligent as a 2 year old, which is a lot of brain capacity compared to the size of their brains.
  • Rats CAN be litter trained, they also can learn many other tricks including shoulder rides, standing on their hind legs, and running through mazes.
  • (More COMING SOON)

2. Females V.S. Males

Confidence Is The Key~ "Food Chain"

My school has a social "food chain", or at least that is what I call it. I hope nobody else has this problem in their schools! Because it is hell! But it may not be for you, depending on you "level".
Level 2: people who play sports, mean to others to get to "1", and friends with populars, etc.
Level 3: Kids who don't play sports, "Arts", and nerds etc

I personally am a level 3, in the arts group. I love my friends! All of them, but it seems that is why I am down "here", and because I am misunderstood. Once our elementary schools meshed into the junior high, things got bad. Fights, drugs, bullying, and just plain old betrayal. Junior high is supposed to be where we figure out who we are, but I have a feeling people aren't making the right decisions! This better get better in high school or I have a feeling I am going to have to switch schools!

This wasn't very informational but here is what I am trying to say:
Make the right decisions now or forever hold you peace!

Confidence is the Key~ Getting your Hopes Up

I meant to do this a long time ago, but I have been feeling..... sick and pretty emotional :/ So here it is:
Not to be a downer on someones bright shiny day, but there are times when you should and shouldn't get your hopes up. I mean, don't give up completely (there is always a chance) because you never know which way fates quarter will turn! But when you know your dream will never come true, let me rephrase that; lets say there is a guy that you like, but you know you will never happen, don't tell yourself that "He is the one" or "I know he will be my husband one day", cause what if he doesn't like you? I mean yea, everyone says opposites attract, but is this:
- & + = <3
really true.
Now, as I said before, I don't mean give up you dreams. I mean, don't tell yourself something if you know it will not work. Examples:
Keep your hopes up

  1. Pets coming home
  2. Life long dreams
  3. Somebody loves you
+ whatever else is in your reach

Don't make it a priority

  1. Super hot guy liking you
  2. having your life be a Disney fantasy
  3. The guy you like liking you back
  4. You getting in the talent show/play
  5. For your pet that was old and sick to come home after a year
  6. ect.

As I said before, not trying to put your mind into a total depressed state, but it is true!
People think that anything could happen, that they are very lucky, and that they will get anything that they could dream for. But why? I mean I tried to get into the talent show with my singing, and my friends told me I was going to get in. Where did that get me? Just to a sad no from a friend that did get in. I accepted and moved on until I heard my family listening to one of my you tube videos of me singing the song I auditioned for the talent show. The only thing I can think of is why didn't I get in. The people who got in this year where in it last year! I just wanted to sing in front of everyone to show them I have a hidden talent so they wouldn't treat me like shit (pardon my french). But it is true! They treat me like dirt, and the only reason is that....... they don't know me and I am their scratching post, but back to the topic. Not many people know I am a kinda goodish singer, not many people know I have any other talent than art. I just wanted to show them that I have talents that I don't like to show, but that they are still talents. My friends got my hopes up.... and fate dropped me down in the ditches. Just to conclude that getting your hopes up in a hopeless situation is..... well... hopeless.

Confidence Is The Key~Poetry

In my school we have a poetry unit in 7th & 8th grade. This is a skill I personally have (Writing poetry).
Here are a few steps to writing awesome poems:
1). Which kind of poem do you want to write?
There are so many different kinds of poems! Including:
- Ode
- Free Verse
- Diamante
- Haiku
- Sonnets- Italian & English
and that is only a few!!
I suggest if you have never had ANY experience that you do not start with Sonnet or Free Verse!!!!
I have to say that diamante are most likely to be the easiest.
If you are brave enough to start with another poem, pick one that has rules, but not to many! This will cause you to give up on your eventual beautiful poem!

ODE- A poem to a certain someone. Could be a poem to a inanimate object, an animal, or person. If it is to an object, make sure you personify it!!

FREE VERSE- No rules!!!!

DIAMANTE- To long to explain so here is an example:
forever, passionate
caring, loving
hugs, kisses, tissues, tears
longing, crying
forever, solitary

HAIKU- Syllables:
line 1: 5
line 2: 7
line 3: 5

SONNET- Look it up :P

2). Best poems come to mind when you are emotional!
I would know! My cat left about 1 year and a month ago :'( he is my inspiration.
-Find a quite spot where you can be alone! You don't want any others budging in on your poem writing session!
- Think about the worst moment in your life. But come on, I don't want to see you thinking of the homework that is due tomorrow! Think of something that
barley anyone knows about, or something you have kept inside.
- Let out the tears! It is better for your poems & yourself. Let yourself just flounder in your feelings until you have written the suficient amount. (this should be a great idea for a free verse or an Ode)

GOOD LUCK!!! if you have any aditional questions you can email me at:

Confidence is the key~ Haters

If you have a you tube account, you probably know what I am talking about!!!! Many people have at least 1 hater. If you have had anough, here are some steps I would take:

Step 1: IGNORE OR RESPOND? Many people have tough decisions about the fight or flight response, or in this case, ignore or respond. In my case, not many people watch my videos because they havn't been up for that long. At most I have 4 comments on a video, so I will just respond back to them politley. If you have more then 50+ haters,  I would make a video, or on your next video just say somthing about it in the description box.

Step 2: MAKING A VIDEO. If you do end up making a video response, ask them politley to tell you what is wrong, or tell them "if you guys don't like my videos, why are you watching them"?

Step 3: LISTENED TO EXPIRIENCED PEOPLE! Nigahiga, a person I am subcribed to on You Tube, made this video:
Although, I would never do this, you can tune it down a little and post somthing, hopefully eithout causing a rucuss ;)

I hope this helps!!!

Confidence is the Key~ Fighting for Yourself

I have seen bullying before. It is ugly and harsh, but real. A lot of people are discriminated for being who they are. Some of the main reasons for bullying:
-Who you like (Girls/Guys)
-What you wear
-What your hobbies are
Some of the things about avoid future and present bullying:

Preventing a Run-In With a Bully

Don't give the bully a chance. As much as you can, avoid the bully. You can't go into hiding or skip class, of course. But if you can take a different route and avoid him or her, do so.
Stand tall and be brave. When you're scared of another person, you're probably not feeling your bravest. But sometimes just acting brave is enough to stop a bully. How does a brave person look and act? Stand tall and you'll send the message: "Don't mess with me." It's easier to feel brave when you feel good about yourself. See the next tip!
Feel good about you. Nobody's perfect, but what can you do to look and feel your best? Maybe you'd like to be more fit. If so, maybe you'll decide to get more exercise, watch less TV, and eat healthier snacks. Or maybe you feel you look best when you shower in the morning before school. If so, you could decide to get up a little earlier so you can be clean and refreshed for the school day.
Get a buddy (and be a buddy). Two is better than one if you're trying to avoid being bullied. Make a plan to walk with a friend or two on the way to school or recess or lunch or wherever you think you might meet the bully. Offer to do the same if a friend is having bully trouble. Get involved if you see bullying going on in your school — tell an adult, stick up for the kid being bullied, and tell the bully to stop.

If The Bully Says or Does Something to You

Ignore the bully. If you can, try your best to ignore the bully's threats. Pretend you don't hear them and walk away quickly to a place of safety. Bullies want a big reaction to their teasing and meanness. Acting as if you don't notice and don't care is like giving no reaction at all, and this just might stop a bully's behavior.
Stand up for yourself. Pretend to feel really brave and confident. Tell the bully "No! Stop it!" in a loud voice. Then walk away, or run if you have to. Kids also can stand up for each other by telling a bully to stop teasing or scaring someone else, and then walk away together. If a bully wants you to do something that you don't want to do — say "no!" and walk away. If you do what a bully says to do, they will likely keep bullying you. Bullies tend to bully kids who don't stick up for themselves.
Don't bully back. Don't hit, kick, or push back to deal with someone bullying you or your friends. Fighting back just satisfies a bully and it's dangerous, too, because someone could get hurt. You're also likely to get in trouble. It's best to stay with others, stay safe, and get help from an adult.
Don't show your feelings. Plan ahead. How can you stop yourself from getting angry or showing you're upset? Try distracting yourself (counting backwards from 100, spelling the word 'turtle' backwards, etc.) to keep your mind occupied until you are out of the situation and somewhere safe where you can show your feelings.
Tell an adult. If you are being bullied, it's very important to tell an adult. Find someone you trust and go and tell them what is happening to you. Teachers, principals, parents, and lunchroom helpers at school can all help to stop bullying. Sometimes bullies stop as soon as a teacher finds out because they're afraid that they will be punished by parents. This is not tattling on someone who has done something small — bullying is wrong and it helps if everyone who gets bullied or sees someone being bullied speaks up.

Confidence is the Key~ Being yourself

Being yourself is the best way to live your life. You can't let other people tell you how to live your life!
Here are the steps:

Step 1: LIVE YOU LIFE! You can't change, just except who you are!

Step 2: LAUGH OUT LOUD! I laugh at lunch all the time! I still laugh even though people look at me like I am crazy. I still laugh even thought people dare each other to come sit at our table! I am my own person, and no one can tell me what to do!!!!!

Step 3: HAVE YOUR OWN STYLE! Don't copy other peoples styles. Create your own style! You have to be your own person!

Step 4: YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE THAT CAN TELL YOU WHAT TO DO! If someone keeps on telling you what you have to do. Fight back! There is no sense in becomming someones slave.

Confidence is the Key~ Rejection

Confidence is the key to life. We all have ups and downs. In this post I will talk about rejection. The steps after the initial rejection are the most important! (This is my expiorience)Some steps you can take:

Step 1:DO NOT GET EMOTIONAL! Especially when rejected in person!

Step 2: IGNORE!Next time you see him/her, don't pay atention to them! Even if your mind drifts and you some how find yourself looking, LOOK AWAY!!!!!! Especially when he/she is talking in a group (about how you asked him/her out).

Step 3: FIGHT BACK! If he/she teases you, look him/her straight in the eyes and say somthing like "Dude! Back off" or somthing in that region.

Step 4: FIND SOMEONE BETTER! If he/she and/or his friends tease you about how you asked him/her out, just keep on telling yourself that you could can find someone better!

Step 5: MOVE ON! Use this expirience to afect the next time you ask someone out. This can be hard or easy, depending on how much and how long you liked that person.

I hope this helped you get over your crush <3
